All Aboard for Shelby County Historical Society Meeting November 2nd

Tim Nettles loves trains!  He is a longtime supporter of the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum in Calera and collector of railroad antiquities.  Even his dental office is designed in the style of an old train station.  His passion also extends to model trains, with an extensive collection containing pieces 100 years old.  Join us as Dr. Nettles shares the history of model trains and displays some of the more interesting sets in his collection.

Joining Tim is Chuck Chambliss, model train enthusiast and creator of the nonprofit, Choo-Choo Chuck.  Choo-Choo Chuck’s portable, interactive train table travels to hospitals and care facilities providing therapeutic play for sick and special needs children.  Take your turn as engineer and hear how the magic of model trains is providing hope and healing.

Society members will also be electing officers and board members for a new term beginning January 1, 2026.

The meeting will begin at 2 pm at the Shelby County Museum & Archives, 1854 Old Courthouse Circle, Columbiana, AL 35051.

We hope to see you there!
