Shelby County Historical Society
Engraved Brick Sale

Dear Members and Friends of the Shelby County Historical Society,
As President of the Shelby County Historical Society, I want to personally invite you to take part in a special opportunity to support the Shelby County Museum & Archives while honoring the people and stories that matter most to you.
We have relaunched our engraved brick fundraiser, and I hope you’ll consider participating.
The bricks are already installed in the walkway leading to the entrance of our beloved 1854 Courthouse in Columbiana, now home to the Museum & Archives. With your support, those bricks will be engraved later this year with the names and tributes submitted during this campaign. This walkway is a highly visible and meaningful space—one that reflects the community’s deep love for our shared history.
Each $100 donation allows you to personalize a brick with up to three lines of text, 14 characters per line (including spaces and punctuation), all engraved in uppercase.
You may wish to dedicate a brick to:
-
A loved one or ancestor
-
A parent or grandparent
-
A military veteran or public servant
-
A local teacher, pastor, or civic leader
-
Your family’s name or business
-
Someone who inspired your love of history
-
Or simply to show your own support for the preservation of Shelby County’s past.
How does this help?
Your donation directly supports the operations of the Shelby County Museum & Archives, helping us preserve irreplaceable historical records, offer genealogical services, maintain the historic courthouse building, and share the stories that define our community. Every brick helps us build a stronger foundation for the future—while honoring those who came before us.
How to participate:
Paper registration forms are available at the Museum in Columbiana.
Or, if it’s more convenient, you can register online using the from below.
Warm Regards,
David Nolen
