Shelby Iron Works Park Volunteer opportunities

MONTHLY PANCAKE BREAKFAST

The Monthly Pancake Breakfast at the Shelby Iron Works Park is the first Saturday of each month from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.  This event draws a large crowd, and there always lots of hungry mouths to feed.  We are always in need of people who can help prepare and serve food.  Volunteers are needed between 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. the day of the event.  Volunteers will need to be able to stand on their feet for several hours. No experience needed - we will train you!

Annual Park Festivals

The Shelby Iron Works Park holds three annual Festivals:  The "Hot Iron an the Iron Park" Spring Car Show, the Fall Festival, and Christmas in the Park.  Each festival requires volunteers to plan the event, as well as many volunteers to help the day of the festival.  These events have high attendance and are a large source of park income.  We are in need of volunteers that can help coordinate and plan for these events, as well as volunteers on hand the day of the event.  We welcome new ideas and value enthusiasm, so if you feel that you can contribute your time and talents to help us with any of these events, please click on the blue volunteer button below.

Park Beautification

The maintenance and upkeep of the Shelby Iron Works Park is one of the most important volunteer positions we offer.  Over the years, many dedicated volunteers have donated their time and expertise to make the park beautiful for the public to enjoy.  There is always something to do!  If you are interested in joining our team, please click on the blue volunteer button below.  Not only will you provide an invaluable service to the park, you will also develop great friendships with other volunteers.

Specialized Park Volunteer Opportunities

We have several opportunities to volunteer that require a certain level of expertise.  Activities such as making sorghum syrup, running a tractor, harvesting a field, and operating an antique sawmill are a few examples.  If you have experience in these areas, or if you want to learn from one of our long-time volunteers, then click on the blue volunteer button below.
