Shelby County Historical Society, Inc. Membership

If you are not already a member of the Shelby County Historical Society, Inc., we ask that you consider becoming one.  Membership allows you to stay connected with events and programming offered by the Society, the Shelby County Museum & Archives, and the Shelby Iron Works Park.  And, once a quarter, you will receive our 12-page publication, Shelby County History & Heritage, which is an exclusive perk of membership.

Did you know that the Shelby County Museum & Archives is home to over 800 County Record Books dating back to the early 1800’s?  Wills, probate records, marriage records, circuit court records, plus so much more. We have over 22,000 packets of loose court records that may contain information on one of YOUR ancestors.  Our state-of-the-art research library offers free access to Ancestry.com, Fold3.com, and Newspapers.com.  There is also an extensive Family File collection, containing information on over 700 families with Shelby County Roots.  We are located in the original 1854 Old Courthouse in the heart of historic Columbiana, AL.  Within our walls resides a museum that contains a priceless collection of artifacts related to Shelby County.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and your membership will help us operate one of the most well-respected local archives in the state of Alabama.  Please join us today!
